Questions people ask before they start

Do I need prior experience with Claude Code to take this course?

No. The course starts with 'Installing Claude Code the Right Way,' so it assumes no existing setup, but it moves quickly into configuration and extension topics, so basic command-line comfort helps.

Is this course focused on using Claude Code casually, or setting it up for real projects?

It's built around production use. The curriculum covers CLAUDE.md configuration, plugins, skills, MCP servers, slash commands, subagents, and hooks — the pieces needed to run Claude Code as part of an actual development workflow, not just ad hoc prompting.

What does 'securely' mean in the MCP Servers lesson?

Since Securafy is a cybersecurity company first, the MCP Servers module specifically addresses how to connect external tools and data sources to Claude Code without introducing unnecessary risk to your environment.

What are subagents and hooks, and why do they matter?

Subagents (covered in 'Building Your AI Dev Team') let you delegate specific tasks to specialized Claude Code agents instead of doing everything in one context. Hooks let you intervene in Claude Code's process at defined points to enforce rules or automate steps. Together they're the basis for running Claude Code more like a coordinated team than a single assistant.

Will this teach me to build custom commands and skills, or just use built-in ones?

You'll work through both — the Plugins & Skills lesson and the Slash Commands lesson cover extending Claude Code with your own custom functionality, not just using what ships by default.

Is this a standalone course or part of a larger track?

Each module is labeled 'Pro,' indicating this course sits within AI University's Pro-level content on Claude Code, building from setup through extension to multi-agent workflows.
